What is GRE?

Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a systematized test that is the requirement for a number of graduate admissions globally. The GRE is administered and owned by the ETS (Educational Testing Services). This test was established by the Carnegie Foundation of the Advancement of Teaching in the year 1936.

What is the GRE General Test?

It is a computer-based test conducted at Prometric testing centers which aim to measure the mathematical, analytical and verbal skills of al the candidates

. Students aspiring for a Masters course overseas, MS, MBA, specialized master’s courses or doctoral degrees may sit for the GRE exam. These tests are conducted throughout the year and the candidates can appear for the same as per their convenience. The GRE is accepted by a majority of Universities globally.

What are the eligibility criteria for GRE 2018?

There are no specific eligibility requirements for this test. Anyone, irrespective of their qualification and age may appear for this exam. The only thing to bear in mind is to have a valid passport at the time of registering for this exam. You would be required to produce your original passport as identity proof at the exam center.

What is the GRE pattern like?

The GRE exam consists of 3 modules:

  • Analytical Writing
  • Verbal Reasoning
  • Quantitative Reasoning

The Analytical Writing is the first module that you have to attempt. The Verbal and Quantitative Reasoning and any other un-scored section may appear in any order. The time duration and the pattern are different for paper-based and online exams.
